The Immediate Implant Surgery in the Esthetic Zone course is designed to enhance dentists’ knowledge and clinical skills in implant placement in the anterior (esthetic) region of the jaw. The esthetic zone requires high precision due to its impact on patient smile and soft tissue appearance. Participants will learn proper case selection, surgical techniques, soft and hard tissue management, and prosthetic considerations to achieve predictable, natural-looking outcomes.
Smile line assessment, gingival shape, interdental papilla, and gingival biotype
Esthetic guidelines and factors in treatment planning
Radiographic and CBCT evaluation of bone and soft tissue
Optimal implant placement position and angulation
Decision-making for immediate vs. delayed implant placement
Atraumatic tooth extraction
Preservation and reconstruction of papilla and alveolar crest
Bone grafting (GBR) and membrane usage
Soft tissue management (keratinized or connective tissue grafts)
Selection of appropriate abutments (angled, zirconia, or titanium)
Accurate impressions for esthetic prosthetic reconstruction
Provisional crown design for tissue guidance
Finishing and polishing for harmony with adjacent teeth
Prevention of soft and hard tissue loss
Managing exposed metal or gingival recession
Corrective techniques when esthetic outcomes are suboptimal
Basic Knowledge
Fundamental oral surgery skills (simple extractions, suturing, soft tissue management)
Basic implantology knowledge (prior general implant courses recommended)
Ability to work with CBCT and interpret radiographic data
Skill Requirements
Experience in placing implants in non-esthetic zones (premolars/molars)
Proficiency in implant prosthetics (abutment selection, impression taking, occlusion considerations)
Ability to perform simple bone and soft tissue grafting
Understanding bone and gingival biology
Familiarity with esthetic principles in dentistry (smile design, gingival line, harmony with adjacent teeth)
