The Immediate Implant Surgery in the Esthetic Zone course is designed to enhance dentists’ knowledge and clinical skills in dental implant placement in the anterior region of the jaws.
Due to the high esthetic sensitivity of the anterior (esthetic) zone, successful outcomes require precise planning, strong scientific understanding, and advanced clinical expertise. In this course, participants will become familiar with the latest principles of case selection, surgical techniques, soft and hard tissue management, and prosthetic considerations related to immediate implant placement in the esthetic zone.
Immediate Implant Surgery in the Esthetic Zone
Systemic evaluation of implant candidates
Biological considerations of peri-implant soft and hard tissues, especially in the anterior zone
Indications and contraindications for immediate implant surgery in the esthetic zone
Advantages and limitations of immediate implant placement in the esthetic zone
Clinical evaluation of candidates for immediate implants in the anterior region
Preoperative radiographic assessment: panoramic imaging and CBCT
CBCT interpretation and selection of appropriate implant fixture size
Specific anatomical considerations in the anterior maxilla
Implant design for the esthetic zone (macro- and micro-geometry, tissue-level vs. bone-level)
Selection of an appropriate implant system
Flap design and suturing techniques
Principles and steps of implant surgery, including drilling protocols for immediate implant placement (Hands-on)
Postoperative considerations (medication and follow-up)
Treatment planning for partially and fully edentulous patients
Bone grafting techniques around immediate implants
Selection of appropriate bone graft materials
Introduction to implant prosthetic components
Cement-retained and screw-retained prostheses
Digital solutions in implant prosthodontics
Abutment selection principles
Digital implantology and immediate loading with provisional restorations
Soft tissue management: ideal emergence profile and proper restoration contouring
Participants are expected to have:
Basic knowledge of oral surgery principles (simple surgeries, tooth extraction, suturing, and soft tissue management)
Fundamental knowledge of implantology (completion of basic or general implant courses)
Ability to work with CBCT imaging and radiographic diagnosis
Experience in placing implants in non-esthetic regions (e.g., premolar or molar areas)
Proficiency in implant prosthodontics (abutment selection, impression techniques, occlusal considerations)
Ability to perform basic bone and soft tissue grafting procedures
Thorough understanding of bone and gingival biology
Familiarity with esthetic principles in dentistry (smile design, gingival line, and harmony with adjacent teeth)
