Course Overview

The Fresh Socket Course is designed to train general dentists in immediate implant placement and alveolar ridge preservation following tooth extraction. Participants will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in bone regeneration, soft tissue management, and proper planning for predictable implant outcomes.

Course Curriculum

• Principles of implantology and bone regeneration

• Understanding alveolar bone resorption after tooth extraction

• Overview of bone graft materials (autograft, allograft, xenograft, biomaterials)

• Barrier membranes (collagen and PTFE) and GBR techniques

• Management of hard and soft tissue

• Ridge preservation techniques to prevent bone loss

• Suturing, soft tissue repair, and flap management

• Hemostasis and post-surgical wound healing

• CBCT imaging and interpretation for bone evaluation

• Treatment planning for implant placement after socket preservation

Course Prerequisites

• Basic knowledge of implantology

• Understanding of osseointegration

• Familiarity with dental implants, abutments, and prosthetic components

• Knowledge of immediate and delayed loading protocols

• Experience in implant prosthodontics

• Skill in traditional and digital impression techniques

• Occlusion adjustment and abutment selection

• Experience with fixed and removable prostheses (e.g., overdentures)

• CBCT imaging and analysis

• Knowledge of digital prosthetic design software (Exocad, 3Shape, Blue Sky Plan)

• Ability to manage soft and hard tissue around implants

• Knowledge of bone grafting and soft tissue augmentation

• Managing complications such as peri-implantitis and bone loss

• Experience in full-arch edentulous patient management

• Understanding functional and esthetic considerations in full-arch reconstruction
